Finding The Right Student Accommodation For You

Finding the right place to live can be a hard process, but it is one that is worth doing well. It is important to know what you are looking for in accommodation, living in the right environment has significant benefits for your health and well-being. Whereas moving to a place that makes you feel uncomfortable will only have a negative effect.

At Unihousing, we have all sorts of different types of properties available for students in 2017. These properties come in many different shapes and sizes, meaning that we have properties to suit everyone. Keep reading to find out what is available, what might suit you best and how Unihousing can help.

Houses

Shared houses are a great economical option for those who enjoy having a group of friends around them all the time. Each person will have their own private room but they will share the kitchen and living area. These shared spaces are usually larger than what you would find in a studio or apartment and therefore much better for getting a group of friends together for a party, for games or a movie night.

It can sometimes be hard to find a private environment in a shared house. If you are someone that enjoys time alone, then you may prefer to look for another form of accommodation.

Studios

Studio

Studios are very popular with students across the country because they offer a relaxing, private and independent environment. Each studio is designed for a single person or couple and includes bedroom/ living/ dining area, kitchenette and shower room. The advantages of studios include: greater privacy, without nosy or distracting housemates; a quiet place for study, again with no distractions; not having to share kitchen or bathroom facilities. If you are quite private and you like having your own space, a studio is an ideal option for you.

On the other hand, studios are smaller than houses and do not have as much space for entertaining larger groups of people. If you prefer to have people around you and you don’t mind sharing facilities, a shared house may be a better option than a studio.

Unihousing offers multiple studios like Harrow road in the popular area of Selly Oak near the University of Birmingham. These are all fully equipped and completely furnished.

Apartments

Apartment bedroom

Apartments are similar to studios in the fact that they are generally for a single person or couple. They offer the same privacy and independence and are ideal for those who prefer their own space to live and work.

Apartments differ in the fact that they have normally three rooms instead of two. Whereas a studio has bedroom, living space and kitchenette all in one room, an apartment will have a kitchen separate to the living space and may have a separate bedroom as well.

If you’re looking for a simple, open plan space that is easy to clean, a studio is probably the best option for you. If you prefer separate spaces for sleeping and cooking an apartment might be more appropriate.

It is possible that busier people prefer the simplicity of a studio whilst more laid back people prefer apartments.

Unihousing has numerous fully furnished studios and apartments on offer including Tiverton road.
