Arts and Performance
If, on the other hand, dance and the arts are more to your
taste, then you may be interested in the Birmingham Weekender. Taking place
later in the year between 22nd – 24th September, the
returning Birmingham Weekender will offer an exciting line-up of free outdoor
performance, art installations, theatre and music involving international
artists and local arts organisations. Featuring numerous new commissions, this
year’s Birmingham Weekender follows on from the success of the 2015 Weekender
which drew an audience of an estimated 150, 000 people.
Great Venues
It is not just upcoming sporting or cultural events that
make Birmingham an attractive place to be this year, as the city is home to
numerous venues that host things on a regular basis that you can go and see.
One example of these venues is the Glee Club, which always provides an appealing
selection of comedy acts, with this year featuring Tony Law, Lenny Henry and
Chris Ramsey. Or you may want to head over to the O2 Academy or The Rainbow in
Digbeth and enjoy the live music there. Add to these options for entertainment
a vast array of first-rate places to eat, drink and socialise and it’s easy to
see why being a student in the city of Birmingham is such a great
idea.
