How Student Nights In Can Be Fun Nights In

Going out is not always affordable. Here are some student ways to stay occupied when staying in, and you never know, it could become a regular thing!

Games Tournament

Whatever your preferred choice of game or games console, you’re sure to find something you and your friends can all agree to play together and make into a tournament-style competition. Playing in pairs or simply as solo entrants, this could be a lively way to pass the time.

Film Night

Watching films in the evening isn’t out of the ordinary, but arranging a viewing around a particular theme or concept could be a nice change. Watch great films, hilariously bad films, or all films of a trilogy or series, there are many possibilities. And you won’t be paying cinema prices to do so either.

BBQ/Bring n Share Meal

If it’s feasible to do and you have the skills, doing a barbecue might be just the thing for you and your uni’ mates. Alternatively, a simple bring and share of snacks is a great way to get everybody together. You’re bound to get a variety of food brought along, and it will be cheaper than going to a restaurant too.

Theme Party

While parties are pretty typical, the theme for your party doesn’t have to be. While you could choose some sort of entertaining or imaginative theme, something funny is sure to please everyone. Get creative with lights or decorations if you wish, add in some bold choices of food and some games, and you could end up with a night to remember.

What Life is Like in a Selly Oak Studio or House

Student Studios

You Come First

The most obvious starting point when thinking about living in a student studio is the freedom it gives you. Renting a student studio means that you live independently and as such, can be yourself in your space day-in-day-out. For a new student who is living away from home for the first time, this could be the ideal way to ease themselves slowly and gently into this whole new phase of life. Independent living in a student studio is a quiet and relaxed choice and may come as a relief for those individuals that relish a relatively tranquil break from all the busy goings-on of the university and their accommodation’s surrounding area.

By placing yourself in a Birmingham student studio, you can enjoy being free from having to make all of the compromises that are a part of living with other students. In addition, you don’t have to worry about having to deal with conflicting ideas of home hygiene and tidiness; you can be as messy or as clean as you like because you’re the only person to see it.

Independent Lifestyle

Interestingly though, studios are also suitable for those who are focused on making the most out of all of the opportunities for socialising, parties and general get-togethers that uni’ life might present. The reason? It’s because life in a student studio is so streamlined and simple; you have a bed, other quality furnishings and then your bathroom in a separate room.

It’s so straightforward that you can just breeze in and out when you like, with the studio acting as more of a base than anything else. And of course, due to this type of student home being so simple, it’s super easy to maintain and therefore the perfect match for this kind of lifestyle.

Student Houses

Community Living

It could be said that all of that freedom and independence could make you feel a little lonely sometimes. Some might suggest as well that being in a student studio maybe doesn’t give you the full university experience that comes with living with other students because it doesn’t create the same kind of socialising and fun that sharing a house can. And while a student studio is easy to manage, you may not like having to clean just the small space that you have, whereas cleaning duties can be shared in a house with others.

For those who are new to living away from home, renting a student house can be great as it means that with other tenants around you there is less chance of feeling lonely. It can be a real comfort to have others around you who might be experiencing a similar situation and with who you can build friendships.

There are practical advantages as well when going for a student house. One of them is that bills can be shared. Also, you have other students close by who can help with cleaning, buying food, cooking etc.
